AWAY FROM COMPUTER

I will be away for a week.  Going to Las Vegas to see some of our family and friends.  While there, Marilynn Huston is teaching her snail class at Las Vegas Silver Doll-Ers doll club that myself and Pamela Cozby started years ago.  I'm so glad that Micki(President) and others are keeping our club going.  I miss the doll club and everyone.  It will be lots of fun seeing everyone and new members also. Marilynn Huston's Snail class is going to be lots of fun.  Even though I create my own dolls and patterns, etc.  I still love taking classes from others.  Couldn't resist taking Marilynn's class since she was going to be in Las Vegas same time I am.  It will be fun!

I will try to get on a computer while I'm away but not going to promise.  I will do my best to. :-) 
Got to go finish packing now.

MEET "VICTORIA EVA"  ***ALSO SEE OLD POST BELOW THIS ONE***

My little doll has a name now. "VICTORIA EVA"    It took a long time to bead her head dress and dress. Hours and Lots of Beads.   Victoria Eva measures approximately 8 inches tall.

NEW DOLL CREATED

I'm pleased to show you one of my new dolls I made. I sculpted the body quite some time ago. Too long ago .... poor little thing was put on the back burner for sometime; close to a year.  Anyhow, she is almost finished.  I am going to add some beading to her outfit and possibly some other embellishments.  I'll be working on her later this evening and possible I'll have another picture of her totally finished tomorrow.  Then later on........I will have a couple more of my little creations (they are sitting naked, got to get them painted, dressed and embellished. 

She will have a name tomorrow. :-)   She's a Sweet little Victorian Lady.  Her dress is created from old antique dresses from years gone by.  I have lots of old antique dress pieces, collars, etc.  I Love that Era.  

Here she is for now. Will post her totally finished and her name tomorrow.  Will post the others when they are dressed and finished.

HERE'S MY BIG BOY! & FRIDAY 13th!

Kat wanted his picture taken this morning. SOoOOoooo Here He Is!  My sweet kitty.  He has LONG FANGS but he doesn't use them.  He is a very LOVABLE SWEET CAT.  He loves laying on his back all stretched out.  He sleeps like that. LOL LOL!! He's my sweetie!  He's going to be 12 years old in Oct. Kat also wanted to say HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY 13th!! He Is!!  I LOVE FRIDAY the 13th. After all I was born on the 13th. It's a LUCKY number NOT a bad number at all.  Not even Friday 13th is bad.  It's LUCKY FRIDAY 13th. :-)

TODAY SO FAR

It's early here, I just finished breakfast and  playing a little on the computer before I finish cleaning my studios. Got one studio almost finished. WOOHOO!! then on to the other studio (Which is a TOTAL MESS).

I was good this morning at breakfast.  I had 1/2 cup of oatmeal, 1 banana, 1 cup of non fat milk, a sprinkle of cinnamon and a bottle of water.   I'M DETERMINDED TO STAY ON MY WEIGHT WATCHER'S PLAN.  Got to. I'm tried of giving them my money and not doing what I'm supposed to do to loose weight. Now it's DOWN TO BUSINESS TO LOOSE WEIGHT! :-)   It's hard sometimes; especially when the Holidays come around or there's GOODIES around.  I guess that is where WILL POWER comes in play.  I do have Will Power BUT sometimes I get in Will Power's way and eat the goodies.  "Yeah I'm Bad!" I have to give myself a lecture sometimes and this is a time I NEED A LECTURE!

WEIGHT WATCHERS

MMMMMMMMM! I only lost 2 ounces this week. BOOHOO! Well, I shouldn't BOOHOO! because I didn't gain any and I did loose 2 ounces but not what I wanted to loose.  Got on the treadmill this morning.  Going to get on it this evening also.  I find I loose more when I get on the treadmill everyday or stay busy cleaning house.  Sometimes I don't get on the treadmill everyday.  BUT I'M GOING TO START TODAY GETTING ON THE TREADMILL EVERYDAY!  I feel like it's taking way to long to loose the weight I want to loose.  I think it's my frame of mind stopping me also.  I DO CHEAT SOMETIMES! MY FAULT, I KNOW.

This is a PROMISE TO MYSELF! STARTING TODAY: I PROMISE MYSELF I'M GOING TO STAY TRUE TO MY WEIGHT WATCHERS DIET AND GOING TO LOOSE POUNDS THIS WEEK!  I feel so much better when I loose the weight AND I want to get back into some of my old clothes I used to wear that are still like new. :-)  YES! I ate more than I should have on EASTER.  I ate PIE (small pieces of several kinds of pie) I KNOW BAD BAD ME!  Now I eat what I'm suppose to eat.  I am one that HAS TO STAY AWAY FROM SWEETS!! I REALLY DO!  Once I get a taste, I keep eating and go back for more.  SWEETS ARE MY DOWN-FALL!! I know it and I know I have to stay away from SWEETS and JUST SAY NO TO THEM!!!!   Will let you know next Tuesday how much I loose.  FINGERS CROSSED & MOUTH OFF LIMIT TO SWEETS!  Actually for more reasons than one because I have high triglycerides from eating too much sugar foods.  I'm working on it and I have lowered my triglycerides by 307 points. Need to lower them 91 points and even lower.  Triglycerides should be between 0-149.   Several years ago my Triglycerides were 705 and that is really bad.  I'm not hurting anybody EXCEPT MYSELF when I EAT SUGAR GOODIES! High Triglycerides run in my family also BUT we can lower them by watching what we eat.

Going to get my STUDIOS back in shape.  They are a TOTAL MESS!  That is today's project AND MAYBE tomorrow to.   YES, THAT'S HOW MESSY THEY ARE.  :-)   AND it will give me some exercise.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! Hope all have a wonderful day celebrating EASTER and ALL IT STANDS FOR. 

Going to a Family Easter Egg Hunt & Meal later today.  Kids will be hunting lots & lots of Easter Eggs, IF IT DOESN'T RAIN.  Suppose to start raining (storms) later this afternoon.  Suppose to storm for the next 4 days.  Sure hope the Weather is Wrong! Hope and Pray we don't have any more Tornadoes if it does storm.

Got to go make a large salad and deviled eggs.  That's what I'm supposed to take to our Family Gathering.

THIS & THAT

Storm, Tornado clean up: is going on and still evaluating the size and damage of the Tornadoes and storms.  My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who was in the path of these Tornadoes and storms.  Lots and Lots and Lots of destroyed homes, businesses, etc.   They need all the help they can get from cleaning up to understanding what they went through and still going through. 

New Dishwasher: installed this morning. WOOHOO! really needed it.  This dishwasher is sooooooooo quite you hardly know it's on.  The dishwasher that came with our house was soooooooooo loud.  Now it's quite when I do the dishes.  I still like doing the dishes by hand sometimes. 

Kat our cat: He is always up early. The men arrived with the dishwasher around 7:45A.M.  Kat watched the men install the dishwasher.  He just layed there watching and meowed every now and then.  Probably trying to tell them how to installed it. LOL LOL!  After they left, he went to bed.

Hubby is out and about. 

I thought I would play on the computer a little bit.  NOW TO CLEAN MY STUDIOS!!  WHAT A MESS THEY ARE!!!   Every time I start working on some new creation, I always say to myself that I'm going to keep things picked up and clean as I work.  YEAH RIGHT!!! ROFL!! JUST LIKE THAT IS EVER GOING TO HAPPEN!!!   Does anyone ever have a clean work area while creating?  Only time I do is when I make little things or do some beading.  I don't do a lot of beading.  Something I would like to do more of though. 

I'm a HOARDER of SUPPLIES.  The more I have the better.  One would think I would have everything I need to create a doll or whatever I'm working on.  NO! it happens to often that I don't have what I need and have to go buy it and then some.  LOL!   I love when Michael's have 50% off coupons.  That's when I buy the large box of clay.  Sometimes they don't have any when I get there SOOOOOO, I find something else to use my 50% off coupon on.   Hobby Lobby usually has more clay out when they run a 40% off coupon and I go there to buy the large box of clay.  I have enough clay for now.  I buy the white sculpy clay.  I love coloring it with alcohol inks, chalk pastels, paints, etc.   I use Jack Johnston's flesh color clay also.  I'm going to need more but don't want to buy it during the hot weather, it will cook in shipping.  I usually buy it during the fall or when it gets cooler.  Wish we could purchase it in the stores.  The other clays in the stores are in small packages, wish they would make or carry them if they make larger size.  

Going to shut up for now and go create something.  Got a few things going through my head as I type.  You know how it is when there's more than one thing wanting to be created.  LOL!!   I really should clean house today OR should say clean my studios before starting anything else.  Maybe I should do that first.  ;-)

TORNADOS IN DALLAS TEXAS AREA

The Tornadoes in our area are devastating.  It's a miracle from God that no one was killed are hurt really bad in these Tornadoes.  Watching and seeing the areas that were torn to pieces is so sad but thank God nobody was killed or hurt really bad.  My heart goes out to everyone that lost their homes.   They are saying 15 unofficial Tornado's but they are saying 12 official Tornadoes hit the Dallas area.  Where I live in Wylie, Texas is part of the Dallas area and we were in the Tornado watches and warnings.  One Tornado just missed us by 15 miles.  Our warning alarms were going off a few times. That means to get to a safe place now. Into our walk in closet in the center of our house is the best place when this happens.  I know they had this on TV's all over the USA and Overseas.  Tornado picked up semi tractor trailers at a Tractor Trailer company and threw them around like rag dolls. Lots of damage there and all over. One lady was baby sitting and they got into the bath tub.  All that was left of that house was the back wall with the bath tub attached.  She had to hold on tight to keep from loosing one little girl. She saved her from being blown out of her arms.  MIRACLES DO HAPPEN AND THEY DID HAPPEN YESTERDAY! 

DFW Airport had 110 planes damaged from hail.  People were on planes ready to go out and they had to get everyone off and back into the terminals.  1400 passengers are still at the airport trying to get to where they were going.  They spent the night in the airport and may have to spend another night before they can get out. 

Chance of more rain today and Sunday.  Hopefully it won't be like yesterday.   These storms came from the Austin area (South) up to us and turned into lots of Tornadoes and went North East.   We live in Wylie, Texas which is North East of downtown Dallas.

I'm so Thankful that no one was hurt really bad or killed in these Tornadoes.

WEIGHT WATCHERS

I went to my weekly Weight Watchers meeting this morning. I lost 3 pounds this week.  WOOHOO!!
Finally I'm back on track.  I stayed for the meeting and then I stayed for the Power Points meeting.  I learn some things I really needed.  Now on to loosing more weight this coming week.  I'm really excited that I lost 3 lbs this week because I have been yo-yoing for several months now.  I just could not seem to get with the program.  I learned how to use the extra 49 points we can have extra each week if we choose to. I hadn't been using them because they scared me.  Thought I'd really eat too much then. But as it was I was gaining not eating the extra points. THAT WAS MY OWN FAULT FOR THE WEIGHT GAINS.  I would eat sweets and to much of them.   NOW I'M BACK ON TRACK AND GOING TO LOOSE EVERY WEEK UNTIL I REACH MY GOAL!!  That is my PROMISE to myself.

ANOTHER DAY!

Another Day Another Dollar???? LOL LOL! Not today.  No, I'm not crazy just been cleaning the house too long and tried.  I wanna work on my new doll patterns BUT the house needed to be picked up, floors swept, floors mopped, laundry done, studios HAVE to be cleaned before  I work on my new doll patterns. I'll finish cleaning the studios in a little while.

I REALLY have to get rid of some stuff in my studios.  I have so much stuff I don't know where to put it all. :-)  AND I KEEP BUYING MORE SUPPLIES.  BUT they are supplies I need that I don't have.  I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that has way too many supplies and keep buying more and more.  I try to stay out of Hobby Lobby, Michael's and Shopping Online Stores.  LOL!  I do have to order lace so I can hand dye it.  I'm just about out and got a show and teaching in July.  Sooooo, I need lace for my sales table and pieces of dyed lace for teaching.  I have to hand dye more of my mohair Tibetan skins.  I'm a bit worried about how fast they will dry here in Texas with the humidity.  Didn't have humidity in Las Vegas, NV.  I could put lace and mohair outside to dry in about 10-15 minutes.  I REALLY AM GOING TO MISS THAT! 

Guess I better get off here and finish cleaning my studios so I can play and create in my studios tomorrow. Got to finish some of my new patterns.  Life does get in the way of creating sometimes.

TODAY

Today I cleaned most of the house except for my studios which are a BIG MESS!!  Been busy with life in general that takes me away from creating when I should. BUT, it all worked out in plenty of time. LOL! LOL!  I shouldn't say that too loud. :-0  I will start cleaning my studios tomorrow or Monday. Going out after while to a Birthday party.  Tomorrow I have to watch Nascar and they are racing here in Texas.  I will be watching it on TV.  They will be racing again later this year when it's cooler.  I would love to go once to the race track and watch them.  Maybe when they are here later this year I can go to the race track to watch them.  Maybe I will get some cleaning done in my studio before the race is on. :-)  I wouldn't bet on it. LOL LOL! 

Allergies are really getting to me right now.  Maybe we should have stayed in Las Vegas where allergies aren't too bad.  I guess it doesn't matter where you live there's some kind of allegy going on.  I'm one that gets allergies no matter where I am.  If it's not food allergies it's air borne allergies and that is what I have now. 

HAPPY ARPIL FOOLS DAY!!!  ROFL ROFL FOOLED YOU?????  Tomorrow and then the 2nd is our grandson's birthday.  He was almost born on April Fools Day.. He could have been but daughter didn't want to do that to him.  She had a C-section.   He was born just after midnight on April 2nd. 

Well, I have rattled on enough.  I should be cleaning my studios instead of playing on the computer but it's more fun playing on the computer.

HI & STILL WORKING ON A COUPLE OF DOLLS

Hope all are busy creating.  I've been working all day and most of this evening trying to finish a doll.  I JUST FINISHED IT!!! WOOOHOO!  ONE MORE TO CREATE!!  I'm RUNNING BEHIND AS USUAL.  I thought Just Maybe 2012 would be better than 2011........ BUT stuff keeps happening to slow me down on working in my studio. Nothing bad happening; Thank Goodness.  Not here any how.  Some of our kids are having some health issues. They are having them taken care of. They are seeing their doctors. The waiting for all the test, etc. to be over with and the results of the test to come back is hard waiting. I just had my yearly blood work.  Not too bad.  I have high Triglycerides, they are a lot lower than last year. I've had high Triglycerides for years. Now my Cholesterol is a little bit high.  I have Vitamin D deficiency. I'm on 2000 IU Vitamin D3 a day.  I don't get out in the sun much at all :-)    Cholesterol is a little high but working on that also.  I'm taking Fish Oil (lots of it; 1000-4000mg) plus my Vitamin D3.  Got to loose some weight and walk on the treadmill. Go back in 3 months for more blood work. I go to weight watchers but I HAVE BEEN BAD!! Who's going to sew my mouth shut???????? Vivian can you come here with your needle and thread????? LOL LOL!!!  Got to keep all the goodies out of the house or I will eat it. Especially Vanilla Ice Cream.  I get started and can't stop eating it. LOL LOL!! Really not funny. :-)
HERE AND NOW I PROMISE MYSELF I WILL KEEP TO MY WEIGHT WATCHERS DIET AND LOOSE WEIGHT EACH WEEK!!  I PROMISE I WILL NOT BUY VANILLA ICE CREAM OR ANY OTHER GOODIES. 

CUPCAKE FAIRY is going to keep me on my diet. Can't eat the cupcake she has. It's made out of paperclay. Would not be to Yummy!! to eat.  She's sitting in my kitchen watching me and making sure I don't eat GOODIES!! Every time I look at her she reminds me NOT TO EAT GOODIES! :-)

It's MIDNIGHT and I'm going to go to bed.  Got to get up early and start working on another new doll.

STILL WORKING ON DOLLS!!! AND LIFE IN GENERAL!!

I got a little doll sculpted but not painted or dressed yet.  Got a couple of birds sculpted and almost finished. Sewing up body parts this evening.  Tomorrow going to Weight Watchers (mmmmm! don't know if I want to get on the scales!!) LOL LOL!!  I was a little bit bad this week.  Got to stop eating out and bringing good stuff in the house. MY WILL POWER IS NOT GOOD RIGHT NOW!  I say Life hands you a Lemon EAT Sugar.  I know that is bad to eat sugar. LOL  I WILL BE GOOD!!
Got to get off here and start supper. Hubby will be home soon.  Having Turkey but NOT all the trimmings that go with it.  Will have a veggie salad, baked potatoe and green beans.  That's a good WW meal.

SOON IT WILL BE MIDNIGHT

MIDNIGHT WALK

It's 2 1/2 hours before Midnight.  Hopefully I will be in bed by then. LOL!! I'm trying to get some work finished on a doll but not sure if it's going to happen or not tonight.  My eyes are already getting heavy.  Nope caffeine won't help.  Caffeine doesn't keep me awake.  Never has and probably never will. 
Got a body cooking in the oven. NOW NOW!! Don't get excited.....It's a clay doll body.  I was watching TV with my Hubby and I was sculpting a little doll body.  Just the torso.  Still have to sculpt arms, legs and head.  I have to stop at Michael's tomorrow and get some supplies I need to finish her.
SUPPOSE TO RAIN ALL DAY TOMORROW.  I HOPE NOT!!   Going to a friends house for a Play Day.  Several of us get together and work on our dolls or whatever else we want to work on.  We have a great time.  Not sure what I'm taking to work on yet.  Maybe I'll take a cloth body to stuff with fiberfill, some decorative papers, modpodge and other stuff to finish her with.  She'll have a clay face with cloth over. Color in face features, etc.  Don't think I'll finish her but will get a good start on her.  She will be a doll for Teaching Proposal unless I change my mind about teaching her. Although she would be a great doll to teach.  I sold one similar to her for $250 a couple  of years ago. I won't be selling this doll or her pattern because she will be a doll that I will teach from time to time.   See I told you I was tried.  I keep rattling on and on.  OK it's time for me to get off here and go get the doll body out of the oven.  I just heard the timer go off.

MAMMY

Meet "MAMMY"  I made her after my Mammy (grandmother).  We called her Mammy.  I made her dress, slip, hat, purse, glasses and shoes like ones she really wore. She looks like she did.  I love and miss her.  She's been gone for 24 years.  I still remember and hang on to lots and lots of memories.  She taught me how to make paper dolls, crochet and lots of other things.

PICTURES COMING SOON

I will be putting on some new pictures soon.  Right now I'm working on lots of different creations.  Probably too many at one time.  BUT THAT'S ME. :-)   I don't think I could work on one thing at a time and finish it from beginning to end without starting something else while working on another.  I just have to work on 2 or more things at once.  ALTHOUGH! I think I will try working on one doll and finish it before starting another. We shall see how that WORKS OUT! LOL LOL   Gotta laugh at myself sometimes. :-) :-)  BUT I'm sure most of you know what I mean.
