HAPPY THANKSGIVING

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES.

We are celebrating with family and friends. I'm looking forward to eating turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, greenbeans, corn, slaw, pies, drinks and lots of other foods.
Well, there goes the diet. hehehehe!!! OH WELL!!

It's RAINNING here in Las Vegas. The rain started last night and still rainning. Supposed to rain on Thanksgiving Day. BUT we REALLY REALLY needed this slow all night all day rain. You know it's a DESERT and it's dusty and dry. Just ask my allegries????? :-)

Going out tonight to the Grand China for supper. We don't have to go far, it's right across the street from our development. My husband Ken said, he needs HOT Sweet N Sour soup to burn the allergies out of his nose. hehehehe!! That will DO IT!! Probably see flames shooting out his ears to. Our grandson Cain is spending the night with us tonight. He is going to help us cook the Turkey. Sure ......he is going to get up really early in the morning with Grandma and Grandpa and put a turkey in the oven. I'm laughing :-) because getting him up really early on a day off from school just NOT going to happen. He gets up really early on school days as it is. Maybe we will make some cookies and maybe some other goodies after he wakes up. Grandpa wants him to watch the Thanksgiving Parade with him.

I better get off this computer and finish cleaning house. Don't want tomorrow's guest see a messy house. ;-)

You know what's so sad about it???? I have had it for over a year and just put my first item for sale on it today. :-) I know, I'm bad. hehehe. I will be putting other items up for sale. Everything I will be selling in my Etsy shop is Handmade my me.

MY BIRTHDAY CAKE

Here's a picture of my Birthday Cake (Cheese Cake, we added strawberries and whipped cream after I blew out the candles in one breath) with Candles burning. :-0 I BLEW EVERYONE OF THEM OUT!!!! WOOOHOOO!!! I still got it. LOL My husband wasn't going to put all the candles on this year BUT I told him yes I want all my candles plus the one to grow on and the one for good luck. I have to make a wish and blow all of them out. I want all my candles on all my birthday cakes. When I can't blow them out then I'll think about that one. LOL!! My son-in-law said, WOW you blew them all out in one breath, good lungs. I guess but sometimes I don't feel like good lungs. LOL

My hubby didn't get a picture of me blowing all my candles out. He got a picture of me looking at the cake but didn't get the cake in that picture either. I told him,hewas fired from taking pictures of my birthday next year. LOL LOL

It was GREAT & FUN Birthday. Went to OutBack for supper. YUMMY!!!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY

It's My Birthday today. My husband made me breakfast. My grandson Cain spent the night with us. My husband and Cain served Large Cinnamon Rolls with candles and sang Happy Birthday to me. :-) Very cute and nice of them. I got lots of Birthday phone calls from our kids, grandkids and friends. Nice way to start the day. :-)

I went to Art Quilt, Etc. meeting. We had show and tell (I took 3 dolls to show & tell). Then we had one of the lady's teaching a beading class. I stayed for that and had a nice time. Now I'm home and my COMPUTER WORKS!!! HURRAY!!! It has been bad the past few days. Hope it keeps working right. I guess it's nice because it's my birthday????? LOL LOL!!!

My husband, our daughter, her husband, our grandson Cain, my sister in law and brother in law are taking me out to eat at Out Back for supper. Then we will come back to our house and have my cake with all those candles. My grandson Cain said, Grandma we will have to have the fire dept. standing by. LOL LOL!!

NOPE! no pictures. Well, not yet. Tonight they will take pictures. I'll post a picture or two tonight or tomorrow.

ROSES IN NOVEMBER

Look how large some of my roses are in November. When it's cooler in Vegas the roses show it proudly BUT when it's HOT they don't like Vegas Heat; they get much smaller. My white roses never open all the way EXCEPT for now. I kept looking at them on my rose bushes and I had to go cut them and show them off. I have had them in my house for 4 days now and they are still BEAUTIFUL!!! They smell so sweet. **Click on the picture of my roses and it will enlarge. You will see small drops of rain on them. We had a small shower before I went outside to cut them. That's another thing we don't see much of "RAIN".

All my rose bushes are blooming right now. Lots of new growth going on. We usually get roses for Christmas. I'm hoping for a vase full at Christmas.

GYPSY CHALLENGE/CELEBRATION OF THE DOLL,2008

GYPSY CHALLENGE DOLL I MADE. Her name is "Jessenia". I needled sculpted her face and hands with nylon stocking. her face features are painted on. Body is wire armature wrapped. Feet/Shoes are sculpted out of Paperclay and pieces of silk fabric with Paverpol brushed on the silk fabric. Her head dress is made of silk and beads. Her dress is made of silk.

IN CELEBRATION OF THE DOLL 2008. I MADE: "Dancine Faith" Her face is sculpted out of Prosculpt clay. Her body is cloth with paper, fancy fibers, etc. mod podged on. There's lots of other techniques used on her. I also teach "Dancine"

These two dolls are at the International Quilt Show in Houston, Texas. All the dolls in the show are WONDERFUL. Check out these pictures: Lots of Eye Candy .

CAIN ON HALLOWEEN AS THE JOKER

Here's a couple of pictures of my grandson Cain dressed as the Joker last night Trick or Treating.

The mask he is holding in front of his face is a sucker grandma and grandpa bought him for Halloween. It's a Strawberry sucker, should last him awhile. O! MY! he got loads and loads of candy. I think he went every where. LOL LOL The best was when he went to one house, the man ran out of candy and gave him a dollar. :-)

We had lots of Trick or Treaters last night. The best costume besides my grandson Cain :-) was "Jack In The Box" It was FANTASTIC. I laughed this litttle boy about 3 years old was dressed as a policeman and his daddy was dressed in a orange prison jump suit. LOL

I made Victoria WInter for the Holiday Seasons. She's hanging on the wall in my Studio right now BUT she will hang in my Living Room when I decorate for Christmas. Actually she could hang year round. MMMMMMMMMM!! maybe she will hang in my living room wall year round.
I'll be making more of her for the Holidays and sell them in my Perfume Shop.

Her face is a sculpt I did last year or maybe 2 years. Any how, her face is sculpted out of Pro Sculpt clay. I painted her face features. Her face is probably going to be a new pressmold as soon as I send her to Master Mold Maker Jeff. I'm so slow about doing anything anymore. There will be a body pattern and clothing for her also. The Pattern will be for a Litttle Girl Doll and not the Holiday Hanging. A THOUGHT!!! I guess I could put the Holiday Hanging instructions in with the Doll pattern as an Extra Bonus. I'll have to think on this one. :-)

OOOOOOO! My Studio is clean .......Well, it was until I started working on Victoria Winter and some other things. LOL LOL

STUDIO STILL NOT CLEAN!!!!

Well, my studio still isn't cleaned up. I went out and bought more large 3 drawer plastic cabinets. I MADE LOTS MORE WORK FOR MYSELF!!! LOL

I have books to put on the book shelves, file papers away, find places to put everything. hehehe
You know how we are ........ We have lots of stuff and go out and buy more stuff when we have no more room to put it. We Just Have To Go Shopping at Michael's, JoAnn's, ETC ETC ETC rather we need something or not. :-) I have two 50 % off coupons(cash register tapes) for Michael's that ends today and a 40 % coupon(flyer). I'm trying to be good and not go BUT OOOOOOOOOOO! How I hate not using them. I have JoAnn coupon also. OOOOOOOOO!!!! HOLD ME BACK!!! :-)

My studio is looking better BUT still have lots to do. Maybe after supper tonight I will finish cleaning and straightening out everything. I NEED to finish writing patterns and making dolls.

I best say GOOD BYE for now, I WILL BE BACK after my Studio is back together.

CLEANING STUDIO

I'm cleaning my VERY MESSY Studio so I can work on some new dolls, pattern, etc.
I should have my studio clean within the next hour. LOL I won't get to work on anything until tomorrow. Going out for supper with our daughter Brandi and our grandson Cain.

I couldn't read emails most of the day due to Cox was doing maintenance. I didn't have time to be on the computer today anyhow. :-) It was a good time for Cox to do maintenance.

Back to cleaning studio so I can get it finished.

BACK FROM INDIANA AND LEAVING FOR HAWAII

I'm back from teaching Dancine at Indiana. What a wonderful fun group they are. I loved every minute I was there. We went to a Boutique at a woman's house. WOW!!! great stuff and great prices. We went to and had Greek food that was to die for. YUMMY YUMMY!!! I loved seeing green grass and trees again. I even got to see some RAIN. hehehe Here in Las Vegas we don't see hardly any water falling out of the sky. We see lots of water sprinklers in yards. :-) Indiana is a beautiful clean state just like my home state Kentucky. Now I'm back in the desert, it was 100 degree when I arrived home at 8 P.M. last night. 100 degree at that time of night at this time of year is above normal.

Dancine class went great. I can't wait to see all the dolls totally finished. I wanted and I tried to get them all to give me their dolls. LOL LOL!!! They laughed at me too. :-0 Thank You for a wonderful time. Everyone of you are special and I enjoyed the time spent with all of you.

I'm off to wash clothes and pack for Hawaii. Think I might give the Hula a try while I'm there. hehehehehe!! See Y'ALL when I get back. Yes, I'm taking my camera and yes I will use it.

Hi All,
Sorry, I haven't posted in awhile. Life does get in the way sometimes. Sometimes more than we want it to but that's life. :-) My daughter Nicole, her husband Randy and kids (my grandkids) Brittany, Cameron and Shawn are on their way to PA with a big rental truck and 2 cars. They are moving to PA. YES, MY HEART IS BROKEN!!! I MISS THEM. :-( They are in Texas seeing my sons Kevin, Kenny and families. They will stop in Kentucky and see our family and then onto PA. Randy's family lives in PA and so does 2 of my other daughters Angela & Michele and grandkids.

I have pictures of a Pin Keep Swap I was in. I will post them tomorrow. Vivian if you are reading this I will send pictures of Catie's Pin Keep she made me.

I'm working on finishing a few dolls that have to go in the mail for a display, a challenge and for teaching. I have a couple of RR Recipe Journals I have to mail tomorrow while my hubby and I are out shopping. It's really to0 HOT here in Vegas to go shopping BUT one has to get out in that HOT TEMPS if they want to shop. :-) Hope I don't melt while shopping and if I do I hope I melt into CHOCOLATE. hehehehehe. Just a little humor. :-)

I'M BACK !!! :-)

I'm back to posting to my blog. I was away at EDAC (Enchanted Doll Artists Conference) last week. This week I have been here in Las Vegas helping put on ODACA (Original Doll Artist Council Of America). It was a FANTASTIC Day!! The luncheon was FANTASTIC!! Everyone enjoyed ODACA DAY! It was so nice making new friends, seeing friends and meeting ODACA's newest Artists. I did not get to take any pictures as I was way to busy sitting up the Luncheon, Helper Dolls, Table Favors, etc etc. I was very busy BUT loved every minute of it. I was happy to help.

I'm going to be working on new dolls. I'm sending some dolls to various places for display and for challenges. I'll finish working on 2 RR Cookbook Journals and get them in the mail. They are way late. SORRY!!! I have a Pincushion swap I have to mail out. It's ready to mail. :-)

My house has been wall to wall with my children and grandchildren since mid June. My son left this morning for his home in Texas. My daughter, her husband and my 3 grandchildren and one of their friends leave tomorrow afternoon to go back to their home in PA. GOSH!!! My home will be quite. I won't know what to do!!! I sure will miss them. It's been nice having them around.

My granddaughter Brittany had surgery on her ankle today. They had to reconstruct her ankle inside. Long story..... She will be in the split they have on her now for 2 weeks, then she will be
in a hard cast for 6 weeks, then she will be in a soft cast for 4 weeks, then she will go to PT for 8 weeks. She won't be back to herself until Dec.

Just wanted to touch base with everyone. I haven't posted in awhile.

HELLO OUT THERE IN BLOG LAND

Hello OUT THERE IN BLOG LAND. I've been so busy I haven't had much time to sleep. LOL
I'm working on lots of things and I'm leaving for EDAC (Enchanted Doll Artists Conference) on Tuesday. You know, I always have a year to get ready for EDAC, one would think that was plenty of time to be ready way ahead of time. NOPE!! NOT ME!!! I'm working as fast as I can. hehehehe!! Got lots of loose ends to tie before I leave.

I don't know if I will post again before I leave or not. If not, I will post pictures, etc of EDAC when I get home. That will be July 21st. Please don't expect to see any post that day or several days after that. LOL I have ODACA here in Vegas a few days after I get home from EDAC. :-)
Soon after I will post pictures and details. I WILL. :-)
