NEW DOLL PATTERNS

I haven't been posting because I've been busy with life and finishing a few new patterns and pressmolds. I also have had lots of computer and printer problems; all are solved now after 2 new printers. I LOVE my new HP All In One Printer. It does everything I need it to. shhhhhhhhh! I can't say that very loud. :-)

You will see "Melinda", she is created in all cloth and painted on face. There will be little boys in this series of Little Girls & Boys patterns. I have to finish the pattern instructions for Melinda and then her pattern is finished. I made Melinda some time ago along with a few other little girl dolls in this series. I will post more Little Girls and Little Boys from this series as I create them.

HOME FROM FLORIDA

We arrived home from Florida late Monday night. It was a wonderful trip. Got to spend lots of time with family. Everyone had a wonderful time. I FORGOT my camera at home BUT one of our nieces took pictures and she is emailing pictures to us. I think my husband said, she already sent them via email to him. Now I have to wait for him to send them to my computer. :-) Me and the camera don't get along, I think, I don't like carrying it. hehehe!! It was a mental block !!! :-)

I didn't do too much yesterday but unpack, wash clothes, put them away, etc etc etc................All the normal stuff you have to do after coming home from a trip. Thank goodness I left the house clean when we left. I love coming home to a clean house after a long trip. That kinda sounds like maybe I don't always come home to a clean house. hehehehe. Kat(our cat) was glad to see us. My brother in law came over eveyday to take care of him and get the mail.

Monday night I went to get on the computer :-) BUT it was down!! Both computers in our house were down. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! Ken got them running but mine had problems before we left. The printer was doing weird things. Now I have a new printer and my computer is working.SHHHhhhhhhhhh!!! I can't say that too loud. LOL Now I can get rest of my patterns printed, pictures for the pattern covers printed, etc. I will go out to the printer today and get all the other parts of the patterns I had them print. I like printing my pictures at home on my printer. These patterns have been A LONG TIME getting finished. Life sure does get in the way a lot sometimes. I had my share for awhile, I hope and pray. ALTHOUGH, when we got home and looked through the mail..........GRRRRRRR! There was a Jury Summons for me for March 12th. I have to call the night before to see if my badge number is in the group that has to go. I had to do this 3 months ago and my badge number wasn't in the group then. BUT it probably will be this time. :-) Oh Well!, will do my duty BUT I'd rather be in my studio CREATING!!!

Of course I have lots of other things to work on today. I think it would scare me if I didn't have something I HAD to do. :-) I'm off to work on a new doll and put her/him in pattern form.

GOING OUT OF TOWN

I'm going out of town until Monday Feb. 9th. Going to Florida with my husband to visit family.
I won't have a computer unless some of the family has a computer. :-) I think I shall live if they don't have a computer I can get on. hehehehehe!!!
I'm taking stuff to work on. I have an article to write so that will keep me busy because I'm not a writer. :-) I write the way I talk. :-) I'm taking pattern work with me also; writing my pattern instructions. SEE!! I'm writing again. LOL LOL!!! Pattern directions; I can write. VBG!
Until Feb. 9th or shall I say Until Feb. 10th there won't be any posting from me.

FOUND OLD PICTURE

I found this old picture of me, 2 of my brothers; Tommy and Frank.
I was 5 years old, Tommy on my right was 6 yrs old and Frank on my left was 4 years old.
This was Christmas at our Mammy and Pappy(Grandparents) house. I got a wooden Table and chairs. They were cream color with red stripe on the cream color legs. I also got a walking bride doll. Santa was gooooooooood!! He visited our house and our Mammy and Pappy's house.

I remember this picture and this Christmas.

Well, I haven't posted in several days. So much to do these days. I'm working on my "Lil Dolls Within My Soul" pattern. GEEEEZ!!! I thought it was all finished until I realized I left a couple of pattern pieces out. :-) I think it will be totally finished tomorrow IF I don't forgot something else. I've had such a bad sinus headache today. Off to take pictures of the Lil Dolls for the pattern cover.

SPECIAL MADE TO ORDER MERMAID PINCUSHIONS

I want to show off two Mermaid Pincushions I have made. They are special orders from a person that is giving them to some special friends of hers. Will be posting more Mermaid Pincushions as they are finished. It will be awhile before more are posted. I love creating these Mermaid Pincushions.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!

My hubby and I are leaving Christmas morning for Dallas, Texas. We are going to spend Christmas with two of our sons and their families. I can't wait to see them again. I know the grandkids have grown like weeds since the last time we saw them. It will be a nice Christmas!! as always. I am so looking forward to this visit. While in Plano, Texas (Dallas area) I will visit HOBBY LOBBY!!!! We don't have Hobby Lobby in Vegas. Wish we did. My husband is glad we don't. hehehehehhe!!!

JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS.........Patti Culea's new book "Creative Cloth Explorations" Adventure's in fairy-inspired fiber art.(I got my granddaughter Brittany a copy from Amazon.com and I autographed my page for her :-)). I AM IN PATTI'S new book. :-) I'm so HONORED, THRILLED AND EXCITED!! My work is in Chapter Two on page 45.

Got to run, have to go sell more perfume. Working at out Perfume Shop, Christmas is the busy season. Not much time for anything else except selling perfume. :-) Won't get back to creating dolls, journals, paper dolls, etc until the 1st of Jan. OH! and while I'm thinking of it, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

SNOW IN VEGAS

SNOW IN LAS VEGAS!!! Pictures below are when the snow started.

I haven't been on the computer all day because I've been busy working in my studio.

I HAD to show Y'All these pictures. IT'S SNOWING IN VEGAS!!! Big storm coming in and we are under a Winter Advisory until 6 A.M. tomorrow(Thursday) morning.

The pictures are when the snow first started. I'll take more later tonight or in the morning. Parts of the Valley are getting more snow due to being higher up and close to the mountains.

The weather says we are going to see 3 to 6 inches around the valley and some parts could see up to 10 inches. ROFL!!! Sorry, I have to laugh because we don't see this much snow in one snow fall. We had 4 to 5 inches in 2006 but it was gone in a few hours. My poor roses are cold.

This snow started as rain and turned into snow. It's coming up from California. The news also said, it's snowing in Malibou, California. That's something that doesn't happen. Weird weather.

HOLIDAYS & OTHER THINGS

I hope everyone had a lovely and yummy Thanksgiving. I did. It was nice spending the day with family and friends.

I have been decorating my house for Christmas. I'm not finished yet. :-)
Still have things to do. My hubby decorated the outside yesterday afternoon. It looks really nice. Will take pictures and post them when all is finished.

I have been working on new dolls that I will teach, patterns, pressmolds, etc, etc, etc. I still have some work to do in that department. Some are finished and some have to be created.
I will post pictures tomorrow of 2 New Classes I Teach. My camera is charging right now. I know I shouldn't have let it go dead but I did. I put it up and forgot where it was. When I found it, it was dead.
That's it for today. Thought I would let everyone know I'm here and what I'm up to. :-)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES.

We are celebrating with family and friends. I'm looking forward to eating turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, greenbeans, corn, slaw, pies, drinks and lots of other foods.
Well, there goes the diet. hehehehe!!! OH WELL!!

It's RAINNING here in Las Vegas. The rain started last night and still rainning. Supposed to rain on Thanksgiving Day. BUT we REALLY REALLY needed this slow all night all day rain. You know it's a DESERT and it's dusty and dry. Just ask my allegries????? :-)

Going out tonight to the Grand China for supper. We don't have to go far, it's right across the street from our development. My husband Ken said, he needs HOT Sweet N Sour soup to burn the allergies out of his nose. hehehehe!! That will DO IT!! Probably see flames shooting out his ears to. Our grandson Cain is spending the night with us tonight. He is going to help us cook the Turkey. Sure ......he is going to get up really early in the morning with Grandma and Grandpa and put a turkey in the oven. I'm laughing :-) because getting him up really early on a day off from school just NOT going to happen. He gets up really early on school days as it is. Maybe we will make some cookies and maybe some other goodies after he wakes up. Grandpa wants him to watch the Thanksgiving Parade with him.

I better get off this computer and finish cleaning house. Don't want tomorrow's guest see a messy house. ;-)

MY BIRTHDAY CAKE

Here's a picture of my Birthday Cake (Cheese Cake, we added strawberries and whipped cream after I blew out the candles in one breath) with Candles burning. :-0 I BLEW EVERYONE OF THEM OUT!!!! WOOOHOOO!!! I still got it. LOL My husband wasn't going to put all the candles on this year BUT I told him yes I want all my candles plus the one to grow on and the one for good luck. I have to make a wish and blow all of them out. I want all my candles on all my birthday cakes. When I can't blow them out then I'll think about that one. LOL!! My son-in-law said, WOW you blew them all out in one breath, good lungs. I guess but sometimes I don't feel like good lungs. LOL

My hubby didn't get a picture of me blowing all my candles out. He got a picture of me looking at the cake but didn't get the cake in that picture either. I told him,hewas fired from taking pictures of my birthday next year. LOL LOL

It was GREAT & FUN Birthday. Went to OutBack for supper. YUMMY!!!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY

It's My Birthday today. My husband made me breakfast. My grandson Cain spent the night with us. My husband and Cain served Large Cinnamon Rolls with candles and sang Happy Birthday to me. :-) Very cute and nice of them. I got lots of Birthday phone calls from our kids, grandkids and friends. Nice way to start the day. :-)

I went to Art Quilt, Etc. meeting. We had show and tell (I took 3 dolls to show & tell). Then we had one of the lady's teaching a beading class. I stayed for that and had a nice time. Now I'm home and my COMPUTER WORKS!!! HURRAY!!! It has been bad the past few days. Hope it keeps working right. I guess it's nice because it's my birthday????? LOL LOL!!!

My husband, our daughter, her husband, our grandson Cain, my sister in law and brother in law are taking me out to eat at Out Back for supper. Then we will come back to our house and have my cake with all those candles. My grandson Cain said, Grandma we will have to have the fire dept. standing by. LOL LOL!!

NOPE! no pictures. Well, not yet. Tonight they will take pictures. I'll post a picture or two tonight or tomorrow.

ROSES IN NOVEMBER

Look how large some of my roses are in November. When it's cooler in Vegas the roses show it proudly BUT when it's HOT they don't like Vegas Heat; they get much smaller. My white roses never open all the way EXCEPT for now. I kept looking at them on my rose bushes and I had to go cut them and show them off. I have had them in my house for 4 days now and they are still BEAUTIFUL!!! They smell so sweet. **Click on the picture of my roses and it will enlarge. You will see small drops of rain on them. We had a small shower before I went outside to cut them. That's another thing we don't see much of "RAIN".

All my rose bushes are blooming right now. Lots of new growth going on. We usually get roses for Christmas. I'm hoping for a vase full at Christmas.

GYPSY CHALLENGE/CELEBRATION OF THE DOLL,2008

GYPSY CHALLENGE DOLL I MADE. Her name is "Jessenia". I needled sculpted her face and hands with nylon stocking. her face features are painted on. Body is wire armature wrapped. Feet/Shoes are sculpted out of Paperclay and pieces of silk fabric with Paverpol brushed on the silk fabric. Her head dress is made of silk and beads. Her dress is made of silk.

IN CELEBRATION OF THE DOLL 2008. I MADE: "Dancine Faith" Her face is sculpted out of Prosculpt clay. Her body is cloth with paper, fancy fibers, etc. mod podged on. There's lots of other techniques used on her. I also teach "Dancine"

These two dolls are at the International Quilt Show in Houston, Texas. All the dolls in the show are WONDERFUL. Check out these pictures: Lots of Eye Candy .

CAIN ON HALLOWEEN AS THE JOKER

Here's a couple of pictures of my grandson Cain dressed as the Joker last night Trick or Treating.

The mask he is holding in front of his face is a sucker grandma and grandpa bought him for Halloween. It's a Strawberry sucker, should last him awhile. O! MY! he got loads and loads of candy. I think he went every where. LOL LOL The best was when he went to one house, the man ran out of candy and gave him a dollar. :-)

We had lots of Trick or Treaters last night. The best costume besides my grandson Cain :-) was "Jack In The Box" It was FANTASTIC. I laughed this litttle boy about 3 years old was dressed as a policeman and his daddy was dressed in a orange prison jump suit. LOL
